Virtual & Hybrid Events: They’re Still a Reality

Have you been able to stay connected to your work colleagues and clients during the pandemic? Beyond Zoom calls, have you really had a “water-cooler” moment with any of them when you were able to chat about shared experiences or weekend plans? For many of us, No is probably the answer.

That’s where virtual and hybrid events come in. They’re an easy and important means for reconnecting corporate employees, clients, and groups of friends as we start to emerge from the pandemic. With phased returns to work and international travel restrictions still in place, creating shared experiences is a great way to bridge the distance created by remote work and make re-engaging more comfortable and enjoyable.

At Make It Happen Management, we have extensive know-how with virtual and hybrid events. During the lockdown, we launched our Chill & Connect online experiences to bring together groups for a relaxed evening of cocktails, mocktails, or wine and lots of conversation. Prior to the event, we ship a drinks kit to participants, and on the big night a mixologist or sommelier leads guests through an interactive tasting. Sometimes we even include cheese, chocolate or charcuterie pairings. All the participants can be at home in front of their computers, yet get to enjoy expertly curated “edutainment” and a social occasion with others.

Other experiences we can make happen are hybrid concerts. For example, we can secure a notable performer and create a safe, intimate in-person concert along with a virtual broadcast for other participants in remote locations or even abroad. What makes these events successful and compelling is interactivity; we ensure that the performer communicates with guests in the room and those online, and that virtual participants have the chance for their voices to be heard.

In addition, cultural experiences can be tailored for virtual and hybrid audiences. We’re currently planning a Cocktails with the Curator event in partnership with the Guggenheim Museum. Virtual guests will receive cocktail and mocktail kits prior to the event, while in-person participants will hit the bar. Then a curator will lead all guests on a live-streamed private tour of the highly anticipated exhibition Away from the Easel: Jackson Pollock’s Mural. Again, we’ll ensure that virtual guests can interact with the curator and other guests for a truly special evening created expressly for the group.

So whether you’re looking to plan a team-building experience for colleagues, entertain clients in a meaningful way, or just have a special outing with far-flung friends, Make it Happen Management can plan the perfect virtual or hybrid event for you.

Make It Happen Mgmt by David Landgraf

EVENT PLANNER + PRODUCER, CHIEF EXPERIENCE OFFICER

A funny thing happened on David Landgraf’s way to becoming a renowned events producer.

Landgraf’s career kicked off at the National Security Agency as a computer systems analyst and operator where he was granted top-secret government clearances. A role that prepared him for his true calling as an events maestro. After all, both endeavors require many of the same skills, including a keen eye for details, strategy, innovation and creativity.

Before founding Make it Happen Management in 2018, Landgraf planned and managed worldwide events for Blackstone, the Government of Singapore, Barclays Capital, Goldman Sachs, and Arthur Andersen, where he applied his unparalleled expertise, access, and ability to engage people to brands, within each high-profile project. For example, a veteran hiring initiative summit and press conference with First Lady, Michelle Obama, to an event with tennis champion, Novak Djokovic. Landgraf’s reputation for making every event exciting, educational, entertaining, and empowering for both clients and guests inspired his company’s moniker.

Time and time again, those looking to create something above and beyond would say,

“CALL DAVID LANDGRAF, HE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN.”
